   Convertible Couch
In my youth I remember seeing the convertible couch in different friend’s houses. They were usually position in front of a TV and out from the wall to allow the backs to fold down. Whenever I stayed at a friend’s place, inevitably the sleeping arrangements were I and another buddy sharing the convertible couch while a third friend slept on the floor. These types of sofas or couches were very popular in the mid 1960s and in recent years, appear to be making a come back. There is no denying it, these couches are convenient. For a dinner party or some other occasion, it’s a normal looking couch, with arm rests, cushions and a modern design – it even fits with the carpets. However later in the evening it morphs into a bed, either single or double – although most are double. Amazing, my mother would say, first it’s a sofa and now it’s a bed!

There are many convertible couches on the market and most brands are the same. Often what you are paying for are cosmetic differences. These differences can be a stain resistant fabric on the couch’s cushions, a wooden frame for those who have an urge to sleep with nature and other such sales points. I would hazard a guess that most shoppers check prices and sizes prior to deciding and buying. So, while you walk the floors of a department store trying to find the right convertible couch, remember that most can be easily folded down, easily moved and make wonderful beds. These are the words a sales clerk will use. Good luck!
